础濒迟丑辞耻驳丑听辞耻谤听Torfaen听Learning Zone Campus听opened earlier this year for teaching and learning,听we听were only able to听hold a small, socially-distanced听event to mark the occasion听due to COVID听restrictions at the time. So,听we haven’t yet听had the chance to听properly celebrate the听fantastic听new facilities听on offer to learners in Cwmbran. So,听last听week, we held an official opening celebration with听our听partners听at听Torfaen听County Borough Council,听which was听attended by VIPs and special guests听from Welsh Government.听

The celebration听took place in the impressive theatre space in Torfaen Learning Zone, with speeches from 麻豆传媒团队 Principal, Guy Lacey;听Senedd Member,听Lynne Neagle;听Torfaen Council Leader,听Anthony Hunt;听and听Executive Member for Education,听Councillor听Richard Clark.听During听the speeches, an official plaque was unveiled听for the campus,听and guests were听then听given tours of the building led by learners from the campus听who talked about the facilities on offer.听

With over 1200 learners enrolled at Torfaen Learning Zone, the first year at our new campus is already proving to be a success. We saw听exceptional A and AS Level results听during the summer, and the new academic year has听got off to a flying start.听Our听learners听and staff听are enjoying making the most of the state-of-the-art facilities and bright airy spaces on offer at the campus.听听

Here鈥檚 what听some of the students听have to say about听their experiences at听Torfaen Learning Zone so far:

Prshux听Kapdee, aged 17 from Blaenavon and Maisie Mutlow, aged 16 from听Abersychan听were both former pupils at听Aberyschan听Comprehensive.听Maisie, now studying A Level Biology, Chemistry,听Maths听and Drama, said: 鈥淚 love this college. The teachers trust you and teach you like a grown up.鈥�听

Prshux, who is studying A Level Biology, Psychology,听Maths听and Further听Maths,听commented: 鈥淚鈥檓 enjoying it a lot and enjoying all my subjects. The location is great and students with big gaps between lessons can pop into town.鈥�听

Leah Walters was a former Croesyceiliog pupil and spent a year studying in Hereford before switching to Torfaen Learning Zone. Leah who is studying A Level Biology, Chemistry, Philosophy and Law,听explained: 鈥淭here are loads of student study spaces. I鈥檓 really enjoying the subjects and the teachers here are really helpful.听The听campus is very spacious and there are lots of facilities and approachable staff who are very easy to talk to.鈥�听

Macy Richards, aged 17,听travels from Newport and is studying A Level Chemistry, Biology and听Maths.听She听said: 鈥淎long with the amazing facilities, the environment here is a lot nicer as your mental health is paramount to making sure you do well and students are given the support they need.鈥�听
