The subject focuses on how economic agents behave or interact and how the country's economy works. It studies how man derives the greatest economic benefit from the limited resources available.

What will I be doing?
Economics is a subject that analyses the production, distribution and consumption of goods and services.
You’ll be continually assessed and there is an expectation that you’ll continue your studies and coursework during your own time. Upon completion of the course, you’ll gain:
- AS Level Economics
- A Level Economics
- Skills Activities
- English and Maths
What is expected of me?
To enter the course, you’ll need a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, to include English/Welsh First Language and Mathematics (Not Maths Numeracy)
A willingness to follow the news and study outside of class is crucial. Full commitment to attendance is required, as is respect for others, enthusiasm for the subject and self-motivation.
What comes next?
Successful completion of A Level Economics can lead to Higher Education, and the qualification is useful for any course requiring analytical skills and an understanding of society. Both AS and A Level Economics are valuable for careers such as Banking, Accountancy, Local Government, the Civil Service and the world of business in general.
